Wisconsin lands 4-star commit over Michigan football

In a rollercoaster day of recruiting news for the Michigan football team, they first received a commitment from four-star safety Elijah Dotson, who flipped from Pitt to Michigan. However, their joy was short-lived as four-star defensive lineman Jaylen Williams announced his commitment flip from Michigan to Wisconsin just a few hours later. Williams, a standout recruit ranked #225 in the 2025 class by 247 Sports, cited “God’s Plan” in his decision to join the Badgers.

Despite losing Williams, Michigan still boasts a strong recruiting class currently ranked #14 in the country, while Wisconsin sits at #25. Both teams are having lackluster seasons on the field with 5-5 records, but recruiting success is crucial for future improvement. Williams, with his potential in both an odd-front and 4-3 scheme, is seen as a valuable addition for Wisconsin’s defense.

Michigan’s recruiting class remains formidable, ranking fourth in the Big Ten, while Wisconsin is ninth. Both teams hope to capitalize on strong recruiting to enhance their programs. While losing Williams was a setback, Michigan continues to have a promising class and looks forward to their future success. Despite the ups and downs of recruiting, the Wolverines and Badgers are focused on strengthening their teams for the seasons to come.
