Southeast Wisconsin Weather Update: Snow Expected Thursday Morning

Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Southeastern Wisconsin

Southeastern Wisconsin is bracing for winter weather as a Winter Weather Advisory has been issued from 6 AM to noon on Thursday. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility and slippery road conditions, particularly during the morning commute.

This evening, scattered rain and snow showers are expected to continue overnight, but minimal accumulation is anticipated. However, a more substantial snow event is forecast for Thursday morning, with higher rates of snowfall likely. Although warm ground temperatures may initially melt some snow, the precipitation is expected to lead to slushy and slick conditions on roadways, particularly in Milwaukee where 1-2 inches of wet snow is predicted. Areas to the north and west of the city could see up to 4 inches.

By late Thursday morning, the precipitation is expected to transition from snow to rain, further complicating travel. Fortunately, the snow that does accumulate is likely to melt as temperatures rise into the 40s over the weekend, accompanied by dry weather—ideal for residents looking to tidy up fallen leaves.

Weather forecasts indicate windy conditions tonight with temperatures dropping to 32 degrees. Thursday will see a high of 41 degrees with continued blustery conditions. Looking ahead, Friday will bring mostly cloudy skies with a high of 48, Saturday is expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 46, and Sunday will remain mostly cloudy with temperatures reaching up to 48 degrees.
