Former Philadelphia Eagles offensive lineman Jason Kelce will not face any charges after an altercation outside of Penn State University’s Beaver Stadium last month. The incident was sparked by a fan’s use of a homophobic slur against Kelce’s brother, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, in reference to his relationship with pop singer Taylor Swift. Social media videos showed Kelce smashing the man’s cellphone to the ground and saying the same slur back to him. Despite the incident being caught on video, no charges have been brought against Kelce as the individual in the video has not been identified and no complaints have been made to University Police. Kelce apologized on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown,” expressing regret for reacting with hate in the heat of the moment. Kelce has since retired from the NFL and has been working as a commentator for ESPN since the end of last season. ESPN declined to comment on the incident.
