North Hudson has engaged the St. Croix County development team to formulate its Comprehensive Plan, highlighting an emphasis on strategic community growth. Both the Hudson and River Falls city councils have finalized their budgets for 2025, paving the way for future initiatives.

As the holiday season approaches, an Exotic Pet Surrender Event will take place on December 14 at Carpenter Nature Center, allowing pet owners to responsibly relinquish non-native animals without penalty. The initiative addresses the environmental dangers of releasing pets into the wild while providing community-driven rehoming options with local partners.

In leadership changes, the St. Croix Valley Food Bank board has appointed Lee Kroll as its new Executive Director, succeeding Tom Holland. Kroll brings over 20 years of experience from the YMCA, along with a commitment to tackling food insecurity in the region.
