Burglars broke into the grounds of Britain’s royal Windsor Castle in October and stole two vehicles belonging to Crown Estate land. The estate is the primary residence of Prince William, Princess Kate, and their family. Thames Valley Police received a report of the burglary, with the offenders making off with a pickup truck and a quad bike. No arrests have been made, and an investigation is ongoing. This incident is not the first security breach at Windsor, as in 2021, a man armed with a crossbow claimed he wanted to kill Queen Elizabeth II. This man was sentenced to nine years in prison for treason, possession of an offensive weapon, and making threats to kill. Neither Buckingham Palace nor Kensington Palace have responded to requests for comment on the recent burglary. William, Kate, and their three children live at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, while King Charles III and Queen Camilla reside at Clarence House in London. The man was handed a nine-year prison sentence for treason, possession of an offensive weapon, and making threats to kill.
