Defensive lineman from Florida decommits from Wisconsin football’s 2025 class

Madison, Wisconsin – The Wisconsin Badgers football team faced a setback in their 2025 recruiting class as defensive end Wilnerson Telemaque from Miami Northwestern High School announced that he was reopening his recruitment. The 6-foot-6, 250-pound recruit shared the news on social media, thanking the Wisconsin coaches for their recruitment efforts but ultimately deciding to explore other options.

Telemaque had initially committed to Wisconsin on June 18 but after discussions with his family and coaches, he made the decision to decommit. His departure leaves the Badgers with three defensive linemen in their 2025 class: Torin Pettaway from Middleton, Drayden Pavey from Ohio, and Xavier Ukponu from Texas.

The announcement of Telemaque’s decommitment came just hours after tight end Emmett Bork from Oconomowoc announced his commitment to Wisconsin, having previously been a recruit for Michigan State. This recruiting move signifies the constant fluctuations and uncertainties present in the world of college football recruitment.

As the Badgers navigate through the recruiting process for the 2025 class, they continue to adapt and make strategic decisions to build a competitive team for the future. Despite the loss of Telemaque, Wisconsin remains focused on securing top talent to bolster their roster in the coming years.
