Tragic Drownings in Delavan, Wisconsin

DELAVAN, Wis. – A grim series of drownings occurred on Saturday, July 5, in Delavan, Wisconsin, with two men losing their lives just hours apart.

The first incident unfolded around 11:35 a.m. when first responders were alerted to a situation on a boat in the 2300 block of South Shore Drive. Upon arrival, they found a 57-year-old man from LaGrange Park, Illinois, unresponsive. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Later that day, at approximately 2:25 p.m., another emergency call was made regarding a man in the water near the Viewcrest area of Delavan Lake. A coordinated search by multiple agencies successfully recovered the body of a 26-year-old man from Texas.

The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is assisting with ongoing investigations into both cases, and authorities have reported that foul play is not suspected.
