Devin Remiker Elected Chair of Democratic Party of Wisconsin
MADISON — Devin Remiker has been elected as the new chair of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, succeeding outgoing chairman Ben Wikler. Remiker, who previously served as the party’s executive director, won decisively at the state party’s annual convention held over the weekend, garnering 485 votes to beat out competitors Joe Zepecki and William Garcia.
In his acceptance speech, Remiker emphasized the importance of consistent engagement, stating, "We have to show up everywhere year-round." He acknowledged the need to rebuild trust within the community, asserting that Democrats are committed to fighting for the working class.
With backing from Wikler and notable Democratic figures, Remiker is well-positioned to lead the party during crucial upcoming elections. His recent experience includes serving as a senior advisor for President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris’s 2024 campaigns.
Wikler’s term will officially conclude on June 30, with Remiker set to take the helm on July 1, aiming to energize the party base and enhance its visibility in Wisconsin politics.
