In a shocking turn of events, Kenosha Police revealed that a 12-year-old boy is responsible for setting fire to three vehicles in just six days. The latest victims, Scott and Shai-linn Wieszchowski, expressed their devastation after their family car was engulfed in flames early on June 1st.
Scott Wieszchowski recalled being abruptly awakened by frantic knocks on his door, only to find his car ablaze with flames reaching nearby trees. The fire not only destroyed their only vehicle—crucial for their daily commutes and family activities—but also damaged their garage. “We feel stuck… it’s definitely impacting our day-to-day life,” said Shai-linn Wieszchowski.
The Kenosha Police reported that the fires occurred near 30th Avenue and 40th Street and highlighted the serious nature of the incident. “He could have hurt somebody,” Scott emphasized, expressing his anger and concern that the boy’s actions could have escalated to more severe consequences.
The young suspect is facing multiple charges, including three counts of felony arson. The Wieszchowski family has initiated a GoFundMe campaign to recover from the damage as they navigate the aftermath of this alarming incident.
