Appleton International Airport Welcomes New Airline with Seasonal Service to Fort Myers

APPLETON, Wis. (WBAY) – Appleton International Airport (ATW) announced the launch of seasonal service to Fort Myers (RSW) through a new air carrier, marking the airport’s fifth airline partnership. Starting January 30, 2026, the service will operate twice weekly, increasing to four times a week by late March, enhancing travel options to popular destinations including Fort Myers, Sanibel Island, Bonita Springs, and Naples.

Abe Weber, director of Appleton Airport, emphasized the importance of this new route, stating it will facilitate easier travel for Northeast Wisconsin residents. "Our goal has always been to make travel faster and more convenient," he noted, celebrating the partnership with Sun Country Airlines.

With over 40 years of experience connecting travelers to warm destinations, Sun Country expressed enthusiasm about expanding its services in Wisconsin. Joe Beckendorf, senior director of network planning, highlighted the airline’s commitment to providing accessible travel options for Upper Midwesterners.

The introduction of this route will increase Appleton’s nonstop flights to Florida to six. Appleton Airport set a record in 2024 with over 1,089,000 travelers, further showcasing its growth and appeal as a travel hub for both business and leisure.
