Cameron Beaubier Aims for Victory at Road America
ELKHART LAKE, Wis. — Cameron Beaubier is on fire as he heads into round three of the MotoAmerica Superbike Championship at Road America from May 30 to June 1. Currently holding a substantial edge in the championship, Beaubier has amassed an impressive 95 out of 100 points from the season’s opening two rounds aboard his Tytlers Cycle Racing BMW M 1000 RR.
With three wins and a second-place finish in the first four races, Beaubier is poised for success in “America’s National Park of Speed.” His season began on a high note at the Barber Motorsports Park, where he won the first race but faced a setback in a rainy second race, losing to rival Jake Gagne. Beaubier swiftly rebounded with a clean sweep at Road Atlanta, vastly improving his standings.
Despite his early dominance, the unpredictability of motorcycle racing was evident when Beaubier suffered a crash at Road America, resulting in a broken heel that required surgery. This injury shifted the championship lead to Gagne, who now ranks 23 points behind Beaubier. Josh Herrin, who later secured the 2024 title, sits in fourth, just nine points out of the lead.
As Beaubier enters this week’s competition, he not only seeks to maintain his lead but also aims to make history by potentially earning his 90th career victory, tying him with Josh Hayes for the most wins in AMA history. Fellow competitors like Gagne and Herrin remain close in the standings, promising an exciting showdown at Road America. With a strong start and his ongoing experience on the BMW, Beaubier’s championship aspirations appear more tangible than ever.
