Northwestern Softball to Conclude 2025 Home Schedule with Wisconsin Series
Evanston, Ill. – This weekend, Northwestern University will host the Wisconsin Badgers for a pivotal three-game softball series at Sharon J. Drysdale Field, marking the end of its 2025 home slate. The series kicks off at 4 PM CT on Friday, with Alumni Day celebrations on Saturday at 2 PM CT, featuring past legends of the program, and wrapping up with Senior Day festivities at 1:30 PM CT on Sunday. Each game will be streamed live on B1G+.
Currently, Northwestern boasts a record of 25-15-1, with a commendable 12-4 record in Big Ten play, placing them third in conference standings, trailing Oregon and UCLA. In a recent performance, the Wildcats achieved an impressive 11-0 victory over UIC, marking back-to-back run-rule wins. Riley Grudzielanek shone in the circle, throwing a no-hitter and striking out five batters, becoming the 18th Wildcat to achieve this milestone.
Avery Garden contributed significantly with three runs scored, aided by her solo home run. Kansas Robinson also impressed, reaching base three times and achieving a .591 on-base percentage over the last week. Both players are vital cogs in the lineup as they aim to keep their conference momentum going into the weekend.
Northwestern’s pitching duo, Grudzielanek and Lauren Boyd, have been formidable, with Boyd leading the team in strikeouts and ERA. The Wildcats have dominated their historical matchup against Wisconsin, boasting a 45-20 all-time series lead and a flawless record in their last ten encounters.
