Wisconsin DNR Unveils Commemorative Merchandise for 125th Anniversary of State Park System
MADISON, Wis. — In a celebration of the Wisconsin State Park System’s 125th anniversary, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has launched a special merchandise line that allows outdoor enthusiasts to commemorate this milestone in style. The new merchandise includes a range of items such as waterproof stickers, reusable tote bags, colorful bandanas, camp mugs, coasters representing four iconic parks, and posters featuring beautiful landscapes from Interstate, Peninsula, Devil’s Lake, and Wyalusing State Parks.
These items are available for purchase at various state parks, forests, recreation areas, and selected trails across Wisconsin. Many locations will sell merchandise directly from park offices, accepting both cash and credit payments. Additionally, the DNR plans to host pop-up shops at select events and properties, with updates provided through their Facebook and Instagram channels.
Thanks to partnerships with local Friends Groups, visitors can also find 125th-anniversary apparel at certain locations, which includes T-shirts and hooded sweatshirts designed specifically for this celebration.
These products are inspired by the current design of Wisconsin’s state park and forest vehicle admission pass. The four highlighted parks have historical significance: Interstate Park, established in 1900, is the oldest in the state system, followed by Peninsula (1910), Devil’s Lake (1911), and Wyalusing (1917).
Purchasing these commemorative items supports the maintenance and operations of over 120 properties within the Wisconsin State Park System. This year, special events related to the anniversary, including guided hikes and history presentations, will also punctuate the calendar.
