Local Organization Supports Camp for Individuals with Disabilities
May 24, 2025 – Manitowoc, WI – The Manitowoc Golden K has generously donated $2,400 to Camp Wawbeek in Wisconsin Dells, a camp dedicated to serving both adults and children with disabilities. This contribution was sourced from the Golden K’s annual Spring Lily Drive and will help subsidize camperships, ensuring that more individuals can participate in its activities.
Camp Wawbeek, part of the Easter Seals, provides an enriching summer experience for individuals with a range of conditions, including autism, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, epilepsy, and Down syndrome. In addition to its summer offerings, the camp also hosts free Veterans Families Camps in the spring and fall, fostering community support and connection.
The funds will be used for essential capital improvements, including the renovation of the swimming pool, playground equipment enhancements, and new arts and crafts tables, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for all campers.
