Two Bodies Discovered in New Jersey Home Following Neighbor Report of Explosion

On Sunday morning, two bodies were recovered from the remnants of a home explosion in Washington Township, Gloucester County, New Jersey. The victims, a man and a woman, have not yet been identified. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. at the intersection of Orion Way and Tranquility Court. Initial reports led investigators to classify the event as an “intense fire” rather than a traditional explosion, despite eyewitness accounts of a loud blast and flames shooting from the house.

Neighbor Susan Pinto described her experience, stating she was watching a movie when she heard the explosion, which left her terrified. She immediately called 911, and firefighters arrived quickly. According to neighbors, the house was completely engulfed in flames within ten minutes of the blast. Two nearby homes sustained damage from the fire.

While officials have not released detailed information about the deceased, a neighbor characterized the man as friendly and pleasant, often seen walking his dog and engaging in light conversation. The overall atmosphere in the community has shifted following the tragedy, as residents grapple with the sudden loss and ongoing investigation.

Authorities are currently examining the cause of the incident, which remains undetermined. Further updates are anticipated as the investigation unfolds, aiming to shed light on what led to this devastating event.
