Graduates Celebrate Spring Commencement at Camp Randall
MADISON, Wis. — A perfect Saturday afternoon set the stage for the Spring Commencement at Camp Randall, where thousands of graduates proudly received their diplomas. Over four years of hard work culminated in joyous moments as approximately 9,424 students crossed the stage, marking a significant milestone in their lives.
Keynote speaker Jason Gay, a Wisconsin alumnus and writer for The Wall Street Journal, delivered an inspiring message, urging graduates to embrace joy in their future endeavors. “Do not deprive yourself of the experience of joy,” he said, emphasizing the importance of surrounding themselves with happiness, accepting new experiences, and finding satisfaction in daily routines.
The ceremony drew an estimated 48,000 attendees, celebrating a diverse group of graduates, including those earning bachelor’s, master’s, and law degrees. Additionally, a special event held the previous evening at the Kohl Center conferred diplomas to around 750 doctoral, MFA, and medical professional degree candidates. As graduates embark on their next chapters, the atmosphere resonated with hope and excitement for the future.
This year’s commencement served as a reminder of the enduring spirit and joy that embodies the achievements of each student.
