Wisconsin Cherry Board Seeks Grower Participation in Elections
MADISON (WKOW) — Wisconsin cherry growers are invited to participate in the election of two new members for the Wisconsin Cherry Board. In a unique twist, no candidates have been nominated, leaving the ballot blank. Growers are encouraged to write in the names of two fellow growers they believe should represent them on the board, serving a three-year term from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2028.
The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection (DATCP) began mailing ballots to licensed cherry producers during the week of May 5. To ensure their voices are heard, growers are reminded to sign and submit their completed ballots either via email to DATCPMarketOrders@wisconsin.gov or by mailing them to the DATCP Market Orders Program, PO Box 8911, Madison, WI 53708, before the June 16, 2025 deadline.
This election presents a vital opportunity for growers to influence decisions impacting the cherry industry in Wisconsin, and participation is crucial for effective representation. For any queries regarding the voting process, growers can reach out to DATCP at the provided email address.
