Local artist Ike Wynter from Butler, Wisconsin, has gained national attention after being commissioned by the NFL to create handcrafted logos for all 32 teams ahead of the league’s draft in Green Bay. Self-taught and a Milwaukee native, Wynter spent over 500 hours repurposing discarded furniture pieces to create the logos, with no stain or paint used, only the raw texture of the wood. The project was a labor of love for Wynter, who stayed up for three nights in a row working on the logos by hand in his studio. Despite being a Green Bay Packers fan, Wynter approached each logo with the same dedication and passion. The project holds special significance for him, as his grandfather was drafted by the Buffalo Bills in 1944, making the Bills logo he created even more meaningful. The logos will eventually make their way to NFL headquarters, and Wynter hopes this opportunity will leave a lasting legacy beyond just art and football. Overall, he feels incredibly honored to have been chosen for this project out of thousands of artists across the nation.
