The Wisconsin football team has secured their quarterback of the future with a commitment from four-star Ryan Hopkins for the Class of 2026. Hopkins, a dual-threat QB from Mater Dei High School in California, chose Wisconsin over offers from Missouri, California, and Duke. He will be entering his senior season at Mater Dei, which has a strong football program and has won the last two California Open Division titles.
Hopkins previously led JSerra Catholic, a rival Trinity League team, and put up impressive numbers as a junior with over 1,100 passing yards, 13 touchdowns, nearly 500 rushing yards, and eight rushing touchdowns. Despite his success on the football field, Hopkins is also a standout track athlete with an impressive 100-meter time of 10.66.
With Hopkins’s commitment, Wisconsin is looking forward to having a talented and versatile quarterback leading their team in the future. The Badgers are excited to welcome Hopkins to their program and believe he has the potential to make a big impact both on and off the field. Hopkins himself expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to play at Wisconsin, citing God’s glory in his announcement tweet. With Hopkins’s skills and determination, the Wisconsin football team is poised for success in the years to come.
