Garcia, who has a background in education and is currently working as a Support Instructor at Western Technical College, believes that the state’s swing state status requires a more attentive and inclusive approach from the Democratic Party. He criticized the current leadership as “broken” and expressed the need for a more bottom-up approach to party decision-making.
With at least five likely candidates in the running to succeed Wikler, the state party convention in June will be a crucial event for the future leadership of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin. Garcia’s bid represents a shift towards a more locally-focused and inclusive approach to party leadership.
