Wisconsin Child Care introduces a new program to support child care providers and lighten their load

Child Care of Wisconsin (3CWI) is launching a new program in an effort to alleviate rising child care costs for both providers and families in Lincoln, Langlade, and St. Croix counties. The program aims to create a revenue stream for providers by allowing families to reserve child care slots for a monthly cost. The money generated from these reservations will go directly to providers to cover expenses such as overhead costs, staff salaries, bonuses, and potentially lower the overall costs of care for families. Founder Elsa Duraceau believes this program will help providers retain employees and ultimately reduce the financial burden on families seeking child care services. The program is set to launch this summer and will expand to Oneida and Marathon counties by the end of 2026. With child care costs continuing to rise and providers struggling with low wages, programs such as this one are crucial in supporting the child care industry and ensuring that families have access to affordable and high-quality care for their children.
