In a dramatic game at Modern Woodmen Park, the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and Quad Cities River Bandits battled in a tense pitchers’ duel that turned into an offensive explosion in the eleventh inning. The Rattlers initially took the lead with three runs in the top of the eleventh, but the Bandits responded with four runs in the bottom of the inning, clinching a 5-4 walkoff victory.
Key plays in the game included Eduardo Garcia’s early run for the Rattlers, a wild pitch that tied the game for the Bandits, and multiple tense escape acts by reliever Patricio Aquino. Despite a strong performance by starting pitcher Chandler Welch, the Rattlers couldn’t hold onto their lead in the eleventh inning.
The River Bandits now lead the series 3-2, with the final game set for Sunday afternoon at Modern Woodmen Park. The Timber Rattlers will return to Neuroscience Group Field for a series against the Lansing Lugnuts on Tuesday.
