Duke University’s basketball team has added another star recruit to its roster for the 2024-25 season. Kon Knueppel, a 6-7, 217-pound wing from Wisconsin, comes from a family with a strong basketball background. His father, also named Kon, was inducted into the Wisconsin Lutheran College Hall of Fame, while his mother, Chari Nordgaard, was a standout player at UW-Green Bay. Kon has four basketball-playing brothers, with the second oldest, Kager, already matching his elder in height.
Kon Knueppel was highly decorated in his high school career, earning Wisconsin’s Mr. Basketball, AP Player of the Year, and Gatorade Player of the Year awards. He was also part of Wisconsin Lutheran High School’s undefeated state championship team. Knueppel is known for his shooting prowess, averaging 25.9 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 5.3 assists per game.
With a family full of talented basketball players, it’s not outlandish to assume that more Knueppel brothers may end up joining Kon at Duke. The Knueppel brothers are all within a seven-year span, with Kon being the oldest at 19. Kager, who is currently a sophomore at Wisconsin Lutheran, matches Kon in height at 6-7.
Kon Knueppel’s entrance into the Duke basketball program adds to the school’s legacy of recruiting talented siblings. The Knueppel family brings a wealth of basketball experience and skill to the Blue Devils’ roster, making them a force to be reckoned with in the upcoming season.
