Effects of Tariffs on Wisconsin’s HVAC Industry | Updates on Business and Economy

As President Trump threatens a tariff war, HVAC companies like Hurlburt Heating and Plumbing in the Chippewa Valley are feeling the impact. The company may have to raise prices by up to 25% on some items due to rising costs caused by tariffs. In response, the company has pre-purchased hundreds of furnaces and air conditioners at pre-tariff prices to protect their customers. Sales and Installation Manager Andrew Evanoff stated that overseas tariffs are the main reason for the rising costs, not the Canadian and Mexican ones. Items such as copper, other metals, PVC piping, furnaces, ducts, and heaters are being impacted.

Various other HVAC companies in Wisconsin have reported similar impacts due to the threat of tariffs. Hurlburt Heating and Plumbing is taking proactive measures to ensure the best possible pricing for their customers while supplies last. The company hopes that current tariffs will be rolled back and future ones avoided to alleviate the financial burden on both the company and its customers.
