Wisconsin women’s basketball program has announced the hiring of Robin Pingeton to lead the team. With an impressive coaching career of 30 years, Pingeton has compiled 585 wins and led Missouri to 10 postseason appearances, including four NCAA Tournaments. She is known as one of just 14 “Power Four” conference coaches with over 500 career victories.
Director of Athletics Chris McIntosh expressed his excitement about bringing Pingeton on board, highlighting her coaching accomplishments on and off the court. Pingeton, a Naismith Coach of the Year semifinalist in 2017 and 2018, has produced winners in both athletics and academics during her tenure at Missouri.
Pingeton is eager to start her new role and bring her coaching experience from the Southeastern Conference to Wisconsin. She has a strong focus on building relationships with her players and is looking forward to continuing the tradition of athletic success at Wisconsin.
Before her time at Missouri, Pingeton had successful coaching stints at Illinois State and as an assistant at Iowa State. A graduate of St. Ambrose, Pingeton is a former professional basketball player with a decorated college athletic career.
With Pingeton’s proven track record of success and experience in developing top-tier athletes, the Wisconsin women’s basketball program is looking forward to a new era under her leadership.
