Badgers dominate in Ohio’s waterways


Wisconsin men’s crew team kicked off their spring season at the Marietta Invite on the Muskingum River, competing against Adrian, Mercyhurst, and Marietta. Despite mild winds, the Badgers performed well, winning multiple races. The varsity eight boat finished first with a time of 5:22.8, while the second varsity eight boat and two third varsity eight boats also took first place. In the varsity four race, Wisconsin finished first with a time of 6:16.0.

Head Coach Beau Hoopman was pleased with the team’s performance and looks forward to the Cal/Stanford Invite in California. The team will use their experience at Marietta to prepare for the upcoming challenges.

The Badgers’ success at the Marietta Invite sets a positive tone for the rest of the spring season. With tough competition ahead, the team is focused on training and improving their performance for future regattas.
