Soldiers from the Wisconsin Army National Guard showcased their dedication, resilience, and spirit at the 2025 State Best Warrior Competition held at Fort McCoy. The four-day competition tested participants on physical fitness, military knowledge, and tactical skills. Spc. Vincent A. Bird and Staff Sgt. Brandon M. Byrne emerged as the top competitors in the enlisted and NCO categories. The event also included a call-for-fire scenario, marksmanship tests, land navigation, an obstacle course, and a ruck march.
