Lori Vallow Daybell Optimistic about Being Exonerated in Children’s Murders

In her first media interview, Lori Vallow Daybell, convicted in the murders of her children and her ex-husband’s previous wife, expressed no remorse for the killings and said she feels “great” acting as her own attorney in the upcoming trial. She claimed she and her husband, Chad Daybell, will be exonerated because Jesus showed her the future. Chad, who self-published end times-themed novels, was sentenced to death after being convicted of murder, conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, and insurance fraud. Lori was given multiple life sentences without parole for her involvement in the deaths. Prosecutors said the couple’s motive was money, sex, and power. Investigators suspect Lori’s deceased brother killed the victims and admitted to killing Lori’s ex-husband in self-defense. Prior to that, Lori had threatened to murder him, claiming he was not her husband. After his death, Lori contacted the life insurance company and discovered she was no longer the beneficiary. Lori moved to Idaho with her children near Chad’s property, where the children were found dead months later. She denied allegations that Chad characterized the children as “dark” and suggested her daughter may have accidentally killed her son before taking her own life. Lori denied involvement in her ex-husband’s death but was charged with first-degree murder. She is set to stand trial in his killing, with jury selection beginning soon.
