Officials in Western Wisconsin seeking input from community members on planning efforts

Residents of Western Wisconsin are invited to share their thoughts on long-term community planning and transportation goals in the region. Dunn County officials are starting the process of updating their comprehensive plan, which covers various aspects including housing, transportation, land use, and natural resources. The plan, last updated in 2016, will be developed over 18 months after input from residents.

Similarly, Chippewa County is seeking input on a transportation safety study, focusing on dangerous intersections and crossings in the area. Residents can participate by identifying risky roadways on an interactive map on the county’s website. The Chippewa-Eau Claire Metropolitan Planning Organization is conducting a survey on transportation methods and roadway quality, as well as soliciting feedback on a potential rail corridor between Eau Claire and the Twin Cities.

An open house will provide more information on the plans in Chippewa Falls on March 11th. The comprehensive plan in Dunn County and the long-range transportation plan in Chippewa-Eau Claire are crucial for guiding decisions made by local officials. Residents’ input is essential for shaping the future development of the region.
