U.S. prosecutors have filed a new indictment against hip-hop mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, accusing him of forcing employees to work long hours and threatening to punish those who did not participate in his alleged two-decade sex trafficking scheme. Combs, who is already facing charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution, has pleaded not guilty and maintains his innocence. The new indictment does not add new charges but describes the “forced labor” that Combs demanded in connection with the racketeering conspiracy. Prosecutors allege that Combs and his associates maintained control over employees through threats of physical, financial, psychological, and reputational harm. One unnamed employee was allegedly pressured into engaging in sex acts with Combs. The prosecution plans to provide additional details to Combs’ lawyers by March 10 and have requested an arraignment on the new indictment on March 14. Combs’ lawyer has stated that many of his former employees are prepared to testify to the dedication and hard work they experienced while working with him on his businesses. Prosecutors claim that Combs’ sex trafficking scheme ran from 2004 to 2024, and many civil lawsuits have been filed against him under a 2022 New York City law that allowed alleged victims of gender-motivated violence to sue even if statutes of limitations had expired. Combs is currently in a Brooklyn jail awaiting trial.
