Spotlight on Student-Athlete Karter Rashke from UW-Stout

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is shining a spotlight on student-athletes from its member institutions for the 2024-25 academic year. Each week, a male and female athlete will be featured in a Q&A segment, selected by their respective schools. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights, sponsored by Culver’s, aim to showcase the talent and accomplishments of these athletes.

This week’s spotlight is on Karter Rashke, a senior at UW-Stout, majoring in Engineering Technology – Production Operations. Rashke chose UW-Stout for its small town setting and hands-on learning opportunities. He appreciates the competition in the WIAC and the balance between academics and athletics as a Division III student-athlete.

Rashke’s favorite Culver’s menu item is Buffalo Chicken Tenders, and he enjoys studying in the First Floor Library Study Rooms on campus. His greatest sports moment was watching a teammate succeed at Indoor Nationals, and he looks up to his father.

In his free time, Rashke enjoys playing golf and laughing with his teammates. His advice to younger athletes is to cherish the friendships and relationships formed through sports. Describing himself as dedicated, Rashke’s dream job is to become a Project Engineer. On his bucket list are goals like becoming an All-American, visiting Yellowstone, and going on an African Safari.

Overall, Rashke is a talented athlete with a passion for both sports and academics, exemplifying the values of the WIAC and Division III athletics.
