MPD publishes footage of fatal officer-involved shooting at 27th and Wisconsin intersection

The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) recently released a series of videos showing the events leading up to an officer-involved shooting that resulted in the death of a 24-year-old man and left one officer wounded. The incident, which occurred on Feb. 12 near the intersection of N. 27th St. and W. Wisconsin Ave., unfolded through a combination of building surveillance footage, body-worn cameras, and a dashboard camera recording.

The videos depict the suspect, identified as Isaiah Stott, firing shots from a semi-automatic rifle into the air before pointing the gun at Officer Daniel Gonzales, who was equipped with a shotgun. Gonzales was shot in the chest and leg but has since been released from the hospital. The other officer involved in the incident was placed on administrative duty.

Despite being outgunned, the officers were able to neutralize the threat, with one officer successfully firing the shots that killed Stott. The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, with Oak Creek police leading the case. Stott’s father, Walker, revealed that Isaiah’s funeral is scheduled for Saturday and mentioned that his son had been dealing with mental health issues.
