History will be made at the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association (WIAA) Individual Wrestling Tournament as the event will feature the first girls team champion in state history. The tournament, part of the 82nd event showcasing the best wrestlers in Wisconsin, will take place from Thursday, Feb. 27, through Saturday, March 1, at the Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.
Young athletes from across the state will compete for titles and potentially catch the eye of college recruiters. The tournament will be broadcast live on the NFHS Network, giving fans the chance to watch all the action. Subscribers can choose between an Annual Pass at $6.67 per month or a Monthly Pass at $11.99 per month to access live sporting events and create clips of their favorite moments.
The full schedule for the tournament has been released, with Session 1 on Thursday including preliminaries and quarterfinals for Division 1 and Girls, followed by preliminaries and quarterfinals for Division 2 and 3. Friday’s Session 2 will feature consolation prelims and quarterfinals for Division 1 and Girls, as well as consolation quarterfinals for Division 2 and 3.
On Saturday, the tournament will culminate with championship matches across all divisions. Fifth-place, third-place matches, and consolation semifinals will also take place throughout the day. The event promises exciting matches and the chance to witness history being made with the first girls team champion in Wisconsin wrestling state tournament history.
