Joe Thomas inducted into Wisconsin State Athletic Hall of Fame

Wisconsin football legend Joe Thomas has been named to the 75th anniversary class of the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame. Thomas, a Brookfield native, had a successful career playing 11 seasons for the Cleveland Browns in the NFL and was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 2023. He holds the record for the longest streak of consecutive snaps since the league began counting in 1999, and only allowed 30 sacks during his career.

During his time at the University of Wisconsin from 2003-2006, Thomas was a three-time All-American and two-time First-team All-Big Ten player. Since retiring from football in 2017, he has been involved in various ventures including working as an NFL analyst, podcaster, coach, and businessman.

The induction ceremony for the Wisconsin Athletic Hall of Fame will take place at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, with Thomas being the second member of this year’s class to be announced, joining TNT broadcaster Ernie Johnson. The Hall of Fame, established in 1951, is dedicated to preserving the legacy and history of sports and athletic achievements in the state of Wisconsin.
