Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the man killed in a shootout with police as 24-year-old Isaiah Stott. Stott was seen on video walking with a rifle on Wisconsin Avenue and firing into the air before police arrived. Upon their arrival, officers ordered Stott to drop the gun, but he refused and fired at the officers. A 34-year-old police officer was wounded but is expected to survive. Stott, a Marine Corps Veteran who was discharged early, does not have a criminal record in Wisconsin. Prior to the shooting, Stott’s behavior seemed to change, as seen on his Facebook page. The gun used in the shooting is being traced by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. The investigation is being led by the Oak Creek Police Department. Stott’s brother expressed shock over the incident, citing recent changes in Stott’s behavior.
