Retired boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is set to make his return to the spotlight in a different capacity. Netflix announced on February 4 that Pacquiao will be joining the cast of Physical: Asia, a spinoff of their popular series Physical: 100. This new chapter expands the Physical: 100 brand to include Asia, featuring some of the strongest physical competitors from different Asian countries.

Yoo Ki-hwan, Netflix Korea’s director of content, expressed excitement about the expansion to an Asian stage, where athletes in MMA, boxing, and wushu sando will compete in a national team battle for their country’s pride. While details about the premiere date and the number of contestants representing each country remain undisclosed, it is confirmed that other celebrities will also be part of the show.

Pacquiao’s last major appearance was in July last year when he participated in an exhibition featherweight fight with RIZIN’s Rukiya Anpo. The addition of Pacquiao to the Physical: Asia lineup has generated significant interest and anticipation among fans.
