Guam’s Sky Show: A Spectacular Month of Skygazing
Guam’s skies are set to provide an incredible display this month, with the opportunity to view all five visible planets in the early evening sky at the same time. This rare occurrence is not to be missed, so be sure to keep an eye out for Venus, Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars in the western sky.
Furthermore, early risers will be delighted to know that the sun started rising earlier this month, providing an extra 10 minutes of daylight in the mornings. The days are gradually getting longer, offering more opportunities to enjoy the beauty of the celestial wonders above.
Avid skywatchers can also look forward to spotting some of the brightest stars in the sky, including Aldebaran, Capella, and Orion the Hunter. With clear skies, it will be possible to locate seven of the 10 brightest stars this month, with even more to be seen in April and May.
Although two of the planets, Uranus and Neptune, require binoculars or a telescope to spot, the visible planets offer a stunning display of celestial beauty. Keep an eye out for Mercury, which may become visible in the evening sky by the end of the month, completing the lineup of all five visible planets.
Don’t miss the chance to witness the beauty of Guam’s night sky this month and beyond. Enjoy the spectacular show that nature has to offer and keep an eye out for more tips on stargazing in the coming weeks.
