Jessica Kroening, along with three minors, has pleaded not guilty to charges of illegal poaching in Washington County. The group is accused of illegally killing over 100 deer in various locations between Campbellsport and Kewaskum from late spring 2023 to July 2024. The suspects would use a spotlight to drive around in the fields at night, shooting and killing deer from their vehicle. Some deer were left to rot, while others were wounded but not killed. The suspects also targeted other animals like geese, raccoons, and turtles, capturing them, holding them in captivity, and harassing them before releasing them. Additionally, the group was accused of hitting deer with their vehicle, taking them inside their home, and ultimately causing their deaths. The suspects are expected to return to court on December 30, where Kroening will appear with her attorney. Judge Sandra Geirnoth set a $5,000 signature bond for Kroening during her initial appearance.
