The No. 7 Wisconsin Badgers concluded their regular season with a 25-19, 26-28, 25-19, 25-18 win over Michigan State on senior night. Seniors Sarah Franklin and Julia Orzol led with double-digit kills, helping the Badgers hit .262 as a team. The Spartans, led by Taylor Preston, finished at .144. Wisconsin dominated in set one, but Michigan State fought back to win the second set. The Badgers regained control in sets three and four, with strong blocking and serving. Libero Saige Damrow led in digs, while Charlie Fuerbringer had a double-double in assists and digs. The Badgers outblocked the Spartans 17.0-6.5 and had seven service aces. Head Coach Kelly Sheffield praised the team’s performance and is looking forward to the NCAA Tournament.
The Badgers tallied 17.0 total blocks, with Fuerbringer recording her ninth double-double of the season. Franklin and Orzol had strong offensive performances, while senior CC Crawford tied her season-best for service aces. Carter Booth recorded nine blocks, the second most this season. The Badgers will await their seed in the upcoming NCAA Championships selection show.
