Spotlight on Student-Athlete: Jack Studer from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse

The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) is featuring student-athletes from its eight institutions in a weekly “Student-Athlete Spotlight” Q&A segment. The segments will be posted every Thursday, with individuals selected by each institution. The WIAC Student-Athlete Spotlights are presented by Culver’s.

This week, the spotlight is on Jack Studer from UW-La Crosse. Studer is a sixth-year student majoring in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Nutrition. He chose UW-La Crosse for its caring coaches and beautiful city. Studer enjoys the competitiveness of the WIAC and being a NCAA Division III athlete, as it has taught him that everything must be earned.

Studer’s favorite Culver’s menu item is the Double Cheeseburger, and his favorite Flavor of the Day is Chocolate with Oreo’s. He enjoys relaxing at the water fountain on campus and watching Game of Thrones. Studer’s greatest sports moment was in a game against UW-Whitewater in 2023.

Off the field, Studer likes to play hacky sack with his teammates. He looks up to his parents and advises younger athletes to never quit and be grateful for their abilities. Studer describes himself as “goofy” and dreams of having a job that makes people smile.

On his bucket list are traveling to every continent, having a garden, and learning to surf. Studer can play the ukulele and has pre-game superstitions that he keeps secret.
