Despite fluctuating weather conditions in southeast Wisconsin, Little Switzerland Ski Area in Slinger is open for business thanks to their snow-making machines. While natural snowfall has been sparse this season, the ski hill is still able to provide a winter wonderland for visitors with the help of artificial snow.
The ski resort’s marketing manager, Brandon Wagner, emphasized the importance of snow-making technology in ensuring the success of their business, stating that they invest a significant amount of money each season to upgrade their snow guns.
The use of artificial snow has become essential for many winter attractions in the region, as evidenced by the closure of Winter Realms in Lake Geneva due to warm winter conditions last year.
Snowboarders like Pat Michaels have embraced the artificial snow, praising the advancements in snow-making systems that have enhanced their skiing experience.
Despite efforts from lawmakers like Sen. Tammy Baldwin to provide relief for businesses affected by a lack of natural snowfall, a bill to offer disaster loans through the Small Business Administration has yet to progress through the committee.
