Trump’s victory in Wisconsin officially certified after routine teleconference by state officials

Wisconsin’s election commission leader, Ann Jacobs, quietly certified Donald Trump’s victory in the state on Friday. Trump won with 1,697,626 votes compared to Kamala Harris’ 1,668,229 votes. This certification marked the end of the chaos surrounding the 2020 election results in Wisconsin, where Trump had refused to accept Joe Biden’s victory.

Trump had forced a recount in Democratic strongholds but ultimately lost. He also tried to disqualify over 200,000 ballots, but the courts dismissed his claims. A subsequent investigation into election fraud turned up nothing, leading to a complaint against the lead investigator for violating conduct rules.

While Trump’s national victory has calmed conservative anger, a vocal faction of the GOP remains skeptical of mail ballots and voting scanners. However, other states have smoothly approved their election results, including Arizona, Michigan, Nevada, and New Mexico.

The certification in Wisconsin, although quiet, marks a turning point in the aftermath of the 2020 election.
