The Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) is warning residents to check their homes for recalled cucumbers after an outbreak of Salmonella across 19 states, including three cases in Wisconsin. The DHS is collaborating with the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (DATCP) and other authorities to investigate the situation. The cucumbers, distributed by SunFed Produce, LLC, were sold in 26 states from October 12 to November 26. Consumers are advised to look for cucumbers with a sticker reading “SunFed Mexico” and to visit the FDA website for more details on the recall. The outbreak has affected a total of 68 individuals, prompting officials to ensure that residents are aware and take necessary precautions to avoid infection.
