The University of Maine women’s ice hockey team faced off against the #1 Wisconsin Badgers, resulting in a 9-0 loss at Alfond Arena. Wisconsin took an early lead with four goals in the first period and added three more in the second period. Despite putting up 14 shots on goal, the Black Bears were unable to find the back of the net. Goalie Kiia Lahtinen made 24 saves in the first two periods. Freshman goalie Madisyn Ryan made her debut in the third period, stopping 13 shots out of 15 faced. Mikayla Boarder led the Black Bears with four shots on goal, but ultimately Wisconsin outshot Maine 46-24. The Black Bears will have another chance to take on the #1 Wisconsin Badgers on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Alfond Arena.
