The Wisconsin women’s hockey team delivered a dominant performance, defeating Maine 9-0. Laila Edwards, Caroline Harvey, and Kirsten Simms each scored twice in the victory. Sarah Wozniewicz, Kelly Gorbatenko, and Marianne Picard also contributed goals. The Badgers scored four goals in the first period alone. Goalie McNaughton made 22 saves before Quinn Kuntz came in for the final 15 minutes. The team has scored power-play goals in six consecutive games. In addition, player O’Brien has recorded points in the last five games and leads the NCAA with 38 points and 28 assists. This victory improves Wisconsin’s all-time record to 3-0-0 against Maine. The two teams will face off again in the second game of the series on Saturday. The game can be watched on ESPN+ or listened to on 1070 The Game. The Badgers are now 16-1-0 for the season, continuing their impressive form.
