vsNEW Introduces Groundbreaking Technology for Assessing Used EV Battery Health

vsNEW, a startup specializing in providing battery health reports for used electric and hybrid vehicles, has launched a groundbreaking two-minute EV battery health report. The report is based on analyzing data from a vehicle’s battery management system, offering transparency to dealerships and used EV buyers regarding the overall condition of a vehicle’s battery.

Attendees can learn more about vsNEW’s technology at Used Car Week in Scottsdale, AZ, where CEO Sachin Chaudhry will be speaking about how to avoid bad batteries when buying used EVs. The technology can assess batteries from all OEMs, including Tesla, using actual data rather than estimates or assumptions.

The report generated by vsNEW’s technology can detect degradation, irreparable cell imbalance, and physical pack damage – the three main causes of battery failure in EVs. Degradation is measured by comparing overall battery capacity and range to when the battery was new, while irreparable cell imbalance can only be detected through analyzing each cell’s voltage. Physical pack damage can result from road hazards or accidents.

vsNEW CEO Sachin Chaudhry emphasizes the importance of detecting cell imbalance early, as it is often a hidden killer of EV batteries. The technology offers dealers and buyers an early warning signal for potential battery issues, with a focus on providing insight into the health of used EVs and hybrid vehicles.

vsNEW’s technology has been fine-tuned over several years and is now being introduced to provide dealers and auctions with accurate assessments of trade-ins and give buyers peace of mind regarding the health of the battery. This technology is a significant advancement in assessing the health of used EV batteries in a rapidly growing market.
