Beyoncé is set to perform at the halftime show for the Christmas Day matchup between the Houston Texans and Baltimore Ravens, which will be livestreamed on Netflix for the first time. This will be the first live performance of songs from her latest album, “Cowboy Carter,” outside of the studio recording. Beyoncé is expected to have special guests join her on stage, but details remain a secret. The announcement was made on social media with a teaser video featuring Beyoncé in cowgirl attire catching a football. Some social media users expressed concerns about Netflix’s ability to handle live sporting events, following video quality issues during a recent boxing match on the platform. Beyoncé has previously performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2013 and 2016, and Netflix hopes to make livestreaming holiday NFL matchups a tradition. The streaming service has also contracted with the NFL to livestream select games through 2026, with the Texans-Ravens game and a Kansas City Chiefs-Pittsburgh Steelers game scheduled for Christmas Day at 4:30 p.m. ET and 1 p.m. ET, respectively.
