Main Street Action PAC, the political arm of the small business advocacy group Main Street Alliance, celebrated a victory in Wisconsin by winning five out of six legislative races they entered. One significant win was in the 14th Senate District, where Democratic challenger Sarah Keyeski defeated incumbent Republican Sen. Joan Ballweg with the PAC’s support. Keyeski’s victory marked a shift from red to blue in the district, thanks in part to an ad run by the PAC featuring small business owner Macy Buhler endorsing Keyeski.
The Keyeski campaign expressed gratitude for the PAC’s support, highlighting their partnership and shared commitment to local economies and small business owners. PAC Executive Director Richard Trent emphasized the importance of small business owners in influencing political debates and shaping political views through in-person discussions, steering away from the divisiveness often seen in TV news and social media.
Trent’s focus now shifts to future fights in the Legislature and Capitol Hill, believing that the strategies employed in Wisconsin could prove successful in influencing future elections and political discussions. Main Street Action PAC’s success in the recent Wisconsin races demonstrates the potential impact of small business owners in engaging voters and shaping political outcomes.
