New system introduced by MoD for protecting intellectual property and patenting technology

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine has announced the development of a new system for protecting intellectual property and patenting military technologies. Minister Rustem Umerov highlighted the importance of innovation in modern warfare and stressed the need for a sustainable system to support and safeguard these technologies. The new initiative establishes clear collaboration rules with Ukrainian and international partners, ensuring that innovations are now protected by patents. This system signals to partners that Ukraine is ready for responsible cooperation and provides guarantees for development and security. An example of this approach is the patent for the Vitryak-M FPV drone detector, which assists the Armed Forces of Ukraine in detecting Russian drones. The minister emphasized that patent protection instills confidence in inventors and partners and serves as the foundation of a new defense culture. This system reflects Ukraine’s commitment to innovation, collaboration, and security in the defense sector. The Ministry of Defense has already received its first patent for the Vitryak-M technology, showcasing the country’s progress in protecting and advancing military technologies.
