Authorities Investigate Burglary Spree Targeting Star Athletes

RIVER HILLS, Wis. — A series of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes have sparked a police investigation into potential links between the cases. Recent incidents include break-ins at the homes of NBA star Bobby Portis and NFL superstars Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes, occurring while the players were away competing.

Portis revealed on social media that two masked men invaded his River Hills home during a Milwaukee Bucks game last week, making off with many of his valuables. In a video shared online, Portis pleaded for public assistance in recovering his possessions, promising a generous reward for any useful information.

Local authorities are on the hunt for the suspects, exploring all potential leads and considering any similarities among the high-profile cases. "We are looking into all avenues, local and national," a River Hills police spokesperson stated, highlighting collaboration with the FBI, which has joined the investigation into Portis’ home invasion.

Meanwhile, Mahomes expressed his frustration over a recent burglary at his estate, while details about Kelce’s incident revealed that $20,000 in cash was stolen, along with causing significant property damage. These events have reignited concerns about security for high-profile athletes; earlier this year, Jason Kelce mentioned on "The Big Podcast with Shaq" that his brother Travis encountered alarmingly intrusive incidents shortly after moving into a gated community.

Experts, including former FBI agent Brad Garrett, believe it might be relatively easy to track athletes’ schedules and locations through social media, leading to these targeted break-ins. Authorities continue to piece together the incidents as they seek to enhance security for athletes in the community.

The investigation remains ongoing, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
